Fine Art Nature Photography and Quality Custom Picture Framing |
Image Counts presents Individualized Classes.
Geared to the individual needs of each person, classes are held in our shop and are scheduled per person, or up to three people (maximum!) per session. First, we determine what it is a person wants to learn, and then present the class around that subject.
Possible areas of instruction can include but aren't limited to:
Type of gear to purchase (camera, tripod, lenses, etc) to suit individual needs;
What type of subjects a person wants to shoot;
Time of day or night that most shooting will take place;
Bring your computer and receive instruction on how to use your picture-processing software.
The Instructor, Jim Baumgardt:
Starting out as a young child, Jim has been a nature and landscape photographer for over 40 years. His continuing love affair with Nature is nurtured by the variety of moods and emotions that are expressed in the outdoors. He has also owned and operated his own portrait studio.
Jim is an award-winning photographer and is published in several textbooks as well as a couple of “coffee table books”; “The Magnificent Universe” by Dr. Ken Cresswell and “Astrophotography” by M. Covington. He is also published several times a year in such magazines as “Sky and Telescope” and “Astronomy Magazine”. Jim is a professional photographer, specializing in the areas of nature, commercial, and astronomy. He has been an instructor on a number of occasions, primarily on the topic of astrophotography. Jim has organized and presented a series of talks and workshops on outdoor, especially nighttime, photography in Yosemite and Lassen Volcanic National Parks. Jim is a member of the Durango Photography Club and has been the speaker for this group on several occasions.
