Slot Canyon in Northern Arizona

This is a view of the wall of a slot canyon in Arizona. The name slot canyon nicely describes these deep narrow canyons carved from sandstone by flash floods. The colors are produced by sunlight and blue sky bouncing around the walls of the canyon and the grooves in the rock by the action of rushing water.
