Meet the Photographer

Jim Baumgardt has been a nature and landscape photographer for over 30 years. His continuing love affair with Nature is nurtured by the variety of moods and emotions that are expressed in her handiwork.

Jim’s favorite cameras are a 4x5 view camera loaded with Fuji Provia and a Nikon D200. Digital techniques are used in all of his work as it provides repeatability and control not available with traditional "wet" photography.

Jim lives with his wife Eileen in Durango, Colorado where they own a Gallery and Frame Shop. "My wife has been a great asset in my photography. She has a wonderful sense of aesthetics and has taught me to slow down in my pursuit of the perfect photograph and to be patient with my subjects."
